Tragic - Grieves ft. Brother Ali

One of music's amazing aspects is that fantastic moment when you fall in love with a song all over again. [Major run on sentence/paragraph coming next, but it's describing an epic feeling, so punctiation only slows down my fleeting thoughts about this current situation] ...I'm referring to that musical phenomenon that happens when your headphones are on and you're listening to your shit on shuffle and then a frequently familiar song from any point of time in your past starts playing, and it mind fucks you in the sense that it grabs your attention and you are really hearing it for the first time. The lyrics never resonated so deep and the beat never grabbed your subconcious so hard. (that's what she said though...HA!) This also gets me to thinking how our daily and collective perspective and attitude subconsciously determine what we want to jam out to...shit, I digress...The only thing I was really trying to point out was the fact that Brother Ali's verse is fanfuckingtastic and I'm really enjoying rocking out to this song in my headphones right meow

Grieves - Against The Bottom

'Against The Bottom' is currently one of my jammmsss. I randomly go through phases where I listen to a shit ton of Grieves. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Grieves' music all of the time. However, there are certain times when his lyrics hit a little harder and it makes you give a little less of a fuck about the current situation. On that note...
I'm over tryin to make this home, so just go
and leave me in the place that we'll always know

Bloody Poetry

Check out Grieves' new song Bloody Poetry from his upcoming album Together/Apart. I am a big fan of him and used to post his music in my old blog....which means I will have to post some of his throw backs later. Grieves is an incredibly talented artist that intertwines pure poetry and music to take you on a musical journey inside of yourself. I find so much comfort and advice in his words and I can't wait to hear his new album!
